Enough Light

I’m back. Just a practical post today on grace. Grace can be defined as the unmerited favor of God. Perhaps as a child you learned the acronym that GRACE stands for: God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense. Through Christ we have received blessings and benefits that we did not deserve or earn through any merit of our own.

Undeserved favor. We all like to be on the receiving end of undeserved favor! Right? But, if we are honest, we hesitate to be on the giving side of grace. After all, grace is not fair. We want people to get what they deserve, not what they don’t deserve! C’mon, be honest now – we are stingy with giving out grace. I don’t want to over-simplify the issue, as we need wisdom about how to best extend grace to others at times. But perhaps a way to get better at giving out grace…
