I don’t know how the rest of you wiled away our recent little ice age of a winter, but I spent it listening to C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia.

Several times, actually.

My oldest daughter, sick and tired of the endless snow and cold before we even made it to the end of January, began playing the unabridged audiobooks after school each day to pass the time until spring arrived. She started at The Magician’s Nephew (narrated by Kenneth Brannagh) and went straight through to The Last Battle (narrated by Patrick Stewart).

Then she started over again . . . and again . . . and again. By my count, we made it through the entire series four and a half times before the snow melted and she…
