Randall Flagg on Picket Fences

I’ve been watching the first season of Picket Fences, an Emmy-winning show from the 1990’s. I pulled out volume 5, and the picture on the DVD was of a crow or raven sitting on a white picket fence. “Who’s coming to Rome, Wisconsin, Randall Flagg?,” I thought, as I remembered the evil character from Stephen King’s The Stand who often turned into a crow.

It turns out…that was precisely who was coming to Rome, Wisconsin! The actor who played Randall Flagg on The Stand (Jamey Sheridan) depicted Dr. Jill Brock’s ex-boyfriend on the episode “Fetal Attraction,” which was on that particular DVD.

Coincidence, or design? This episode of Picket Fences was a few years before the Stand, but the picture on the DVD came long after the Stephen King miniseries.

Weird, huh?
